As longtime fans of this stunning venue, it’s always a pleasure to return, but this wedding stood out in all the best ways. With sweeping views of the surrounding mountains, a serene lakeside backdrop, and a team known for exceptional service and cuisine, the Lodge continues to deliver an incredible experience for couples and their guests alike.

From the start, Nicola and Colin made it clear this would not be a traditional wedding and that’s exactly what made it so special. One of the most memorable moments of the ceremony was when they chose to read their vows together in unison. It was intimate, unique, and deeply personal, setting the tone for the rest of the day. Their connection was undeniable, and capturing that authenticity is what wedding videography is all about.
The reception brought a whole new level of excitement. Colin arranged for a live rock band after seeing the lead singer perform in England, and they absolutely brought the house down. The dance floor was packed all night, fueled by incredible live music and an atmosphere that kept guests fully engaged. Nicola and Colin also surprised everyone with a beautifully choreographed first dance. For those who knew them, this was an unexpected twist—Colin’s high-energy personality paired with Nicola’s more reserved nature made the performance all the more captivating.
The speeches struck a perfect balance between heartfelt and humorous, giving us plenty of emotional moments to weave into their final films. One of the most unique aspects of this wedding, however, was the Video Guestbook. This interactive feature quickly became a guest favorite. Friends and family didn’t just leave simple messages, they sang, danced, joked, and in some cases, returned multiple times throughout the night to add even more memories. The result was a vibrant, candid collection of moments that truly reflected the joy of the celebration.
From a production standpoint, this wedding allowed us to utilize all the tools in our arsenal. We filmed with multiple cameras to ensure every angle was covered, from the emotional ceremony to the high-energy dance floor. The Lodge’s picturesque setting made it the perfect opportunity to incorporate drone footage, capturing sweeping aerial views that added cinematic depth to the final films.
Filming inside the Lodge’s dining room does come with its challenges; space is limited once guests fill the room, leaving little flexibility for equipment placement. Fortunately, our experience at this venue allowed us to anticipate these constraints. By carefully positioning cameras and lighting, we were able to capture stunning footage without disrupting the flow of the event.
In the end, we delivered a full suite of videos for Nicola and Colin, including a highlight film, teaser, full ceremony edit, and a high-energy band and dancing feature. The Video Guestbook was edited into its own standalone piece, preserving the personality and spontaneity of their guests.
As a final, deeply personal touch, Nicola and Colin shared a song written and recorded by Nicola’s mother after the wedding. Incorporating it into their film added an emotional layer that made their video truly one-of-a-kind. A lasting tribute to family, love, and a day that no one will soon forget.
